RE: changing carbs to FI
Given that it may be easier to sell the bike for a new one....what all would be required? I have a '99 F4 that has carb issues, and im wanting to convert it to fuel injection. Its not a street bike, its going to be a trank bike, and its not my primary ride... If i swapped cylinder head, changed the wiring harness, and put the throttle bodies on, would that be all thats necisary to change to make the bike run? Unfortunately i dont know the intricate differences between the f4 and f4i engines....but from what i can tell just from looking they appear to be similar...anyone?

they are similar the thing is f4 is carberated and the f4i is fuel injected the convertion can be done ive seen it on my friends bike it runs fine ,but why go tthrough all that just to get it fuel injected ,sell f4 and buy f4i it will save time and money in the long run

RE: changing carbs to FI
well in that case you should of never bought this bike ,andif your going to risk your life on the track and other lifes with a bike title like that go ahead but me i would never buy a bike even witha salvage title ,you never know what can go wrong with a bike like that , good luck man ,and your right, i would probably change the carbs to fuel injections in your case

RE: changing carbs to FI
Thats a great point. The FI will give you more power, and can be mapped to give proper fuel/air mixture ratio. I would have to agree on suspension though, at least set it up with a dampener (maybe Olhins??). Otherwise rebound and other suspension adjustments make a world of difference. The magazine SuperBike, out of the UK has all kinds of interesting do-it-yourself articles on this subject (They did like a 4 month piece from sometime this last summer). If ya want to stunt, the FI is the way to go, and with the salvage bike maybe that is a good idea. Now is this bike still in pieces, or just a bad title and rebuilt? Peace
