Default CBR F4 (PC35) rear shock options

Hi all, first post and newbie to the forum

i ride a 99' CBR600 F4 (carb version) and I'm on the hunt for compatible rear shock for my bike. Currently the bike has a YSS monoshock on it (OEM is long gone) but adjustability on that thing is close to none.
There are several threads mentioning getting a reputable second hand after-market shock, however second hand availability (apart from OEM) for a bike this old is very limited. A new item will set me back with about 800euro or basically what the bike is worth at this stage.

I'm looking at two options:

- Getting a second hand after-market shock with greater adjustability and gas chamber. Some manufacturers (like Wilbers) still offer shocks for my model but finding a second hand one - well, good luck.
- Buying an old OEM shock off ebay and having it overhauled by a professional.

Here come my questions:

- Are there interchangeable shocks from other models / makes I can use ? I was reading something about 919 shocks fitting my bike but overall; doing a generic google search doesn't help much.
- Can anyone suggest a service in Germany or in Europe that can re-build an OEM PC35 shock ?

(I used the search engine but could not come across a topic that perfectly matches my inquiry.)
