Default Cbr 600 F4 cracking noise

Hello

Im new here on this forum, and im from Sweden so excuse me for my spelling

I have a problem with my bike, a cbr600 -99, when i hit the front break, theres coming up a cracking noise.
It dosent matter if im driving, or if im standing still and leaning over the handlebar.
It sounds like it comes from the forks, but im not sure.
Is there any kind person who can give me a tip?
I will be happy for answers

best regards bazookan

We need more info. Does the noise happen only when the forks are pushed down? Or is it from applying the brakes?

No it´s not from applying the brakes. If you are standing still and pushing hard on the handlebar, the noise occurs. Could it be the bearings or somthing else?

My guess would be the steering stem that's not tight. If that's not it, check bearings.

is it more of a creaking than a cracking? if it occurs when you break thats probably because the forks are compressing down. it would make sense because you say it happens when you just push down on them. are there any visible leaks? do they rebound when you push down

Yes it´s more like creaking, sounds just like when you break a pencil
There´s no visible leaks and the forks rebound nicely.

So they couldn't diagnose a problem? It might be your horn or brake lines hitting against something. Sounds minor.
