Default Carb vs. Injected....

So what's better? I have heard much about both, so again, I thought that I would send it to the experts... (you...)

Chime in let me know what you think...

Have a great day!

And I know, general question.........

I really can't think of any ways that a carb is better.

I had a 2001 GSX-R that was injected and now I have a 99 F4 that is carbed. Although I do like my F4 alot, it is nothing compaired to the GSX-R. The fuel injection system starts right up every time, even in the cold, and it just feels more crisp. I think there is a slight delay when working with a carb.

I have heard that, although from my experience, the sound from a carbed engine verses an injected one is vastly different, I do prefer the carbed sound.

But, performance is performance. If I want sound, I'll buy Bose.

I think the injection is a better "user friendly" approach, but there are people that swear that you get a better response from the carbs.

There is that preception of the tuning as well, but i think that is pretty fail safe as far as honda goes...

Just my three cents.

FI problems are hard to diagnose and are expensive to fix. The response time you get from a twist of the throttle carbs vs FI is unoticeable unless you are Rossi.

I like simple engines so i can do things myself, so i like carbs. I never have a problem starting up with the choke.

I will agree with Flip on I do like to having the ability to work on a carb motor myself (one of the reasons why I bought the F4). And true I will never know the true preformance difference between the two unless I am Rossi. Maybe it is the differences in the F4 and GSX-R as a whole, but I felt alot better Gixxer.

This is a CBR forum not a GSXR forum, I think your playing with fire. Also why would you bring up a COMPLETELY different bike, brand, and especially injected. The topic was injection versus carburated. Stay on topic

FI > Carb. Theres no reason to be using a carb anymore IMO. If I could have afforded it, I'd have a FI bike. : )

If I could have afforded it I would have bought a McLaren F4, but I still prefer my carbo because it's easier to work on and cheaper to fix. Thats if you know how to and you got a torque wrench.

BTW I thought Rossi rode 125 GP, not 600 class?
