Default Brake light constantly on HELP PLEASE THANKS

Very new to CBR, just got my first bike about a week ago. The brake light is constantly on. I read on other threads about senors and removing them and plugging them back in and stuff. But I don't know where that is.

Can someone send me a picture of where the senors are for the front and rear brake???

Thanks ahead of time.

They are switches... located on the front and rear brake lever/pedal. The rear has an adjuster too.

Sorry for not being clear.. Ok first we'll go with front- look at your brake lever. Pull it.. hear that little click? that's the switch. Look at near the base of the lever.. you'll see a little rubber covered thing. That's your switch. I would mess around with it and see if you can get the lights to shut off.. if they do, you've narrowed it down to the front.. change the switch and you're golden.

If you fiddle with that and it doesn't work, look at your rear brake pedal. at the point where it pivots youll see a spring that pulls on a switch (this is from memory don't kill me if i'm off).. and there's and adjuster. Try backing this adjuster off and see if the lights turn off if you take some tension off. If you can't figure it out this way, you may have to get someone who's handy with a multimeter to start probing circuits and narrow it down. Either way.. easy fix.

Ahhh, I found out what was wrong with it, the brake light senor isn't working. So its actually the brake lights doesn't come on. I the senor doesn't work. So I ordered a new senor, hopefully that works.

The odds of (a) switch failing is not very good let alone both of them failing. I would say to troubleshoot electrical wise first but it sounds that may be futile. Have someone you know that understands electricity come look at it. I wouldn't waste anymore money on brake switches, if you can hear them click, I can guarantee they are working. The clicking is the contacts inside switching, hence the name "Switch".

Alright, well the switch was only 10 dollars, so I'm not worried but if that doesn't work I'll try something else. How do you troubleshoot it?

As far as the brake light switches go, you would just want to check that there is 12v on one side of the switch with the key on. When you trigger the switch it should pass voltage to the other side of the switch. If that checks out then you either have a loose connector, bad brake light filament. The ground is common between the running lights and the brake light so if your running lights work, the ground should be ok.

Okay, so the lights are dual filaments, and I brought a brand new senor and my brake still doesn't light up. I've tried troubleshooting it also but I don't really know what to do. So are there pictures or anything that can help me. Thanks.
