i have a 2000 cbr600 since ive got the bike its had problems charging the battery...ive replaced the battery, R/R and the stator it seemed to work for a few days but now its back at it again. when i come to a stop and my idle goes back to normal and i try to go and then it kinda bubbles and shuts off my bike and wont start without a jump. it wont even start by push start. ive also noticed the red plastic box by the battery that connects to the battery fuse box gets really hot and has starts to melt together. could this be the problem? i know it needs a tune up but i don't think that could be the problem. also for the first time the other day i seen the bike start to overheat but it only went 3 quarters of the way at a stop and go back to half way while riding. i believe there could be a short somewhere. i also seen sparks coming from my rear turn signal from under the seat.

Thats the starter solenoid your talking about (the red box ). That shouldn't get hot enough to melt. Power goes both ways through the solenoid so I would say your r/r or stator is still bad or wired wrong. Too much juice is getting to the battery and overcharging it. Do you have a multi-meter? The tests are easy and will tell you if one or both is bad.

It sounds like you have some sort of power drain somewhere, possibly from a short.
Are you 100% sure that the stator and R/R are properly installed?
Have you tested your charging system? Remove the seat, and use a multimeter to test the battery voltage with the bike completely off. Should read at, or very close, to 12.8v. Now start the bike and test the voltage again. It should be in the upper 13v's at idle, and while revving the engine, should get to the mid 14v's, but it should not reach 15v. If it doesn't increase about 12.8 while running, you're looking at a bad stator, wiring, or possibly a completely fried R/R. If it goes above the mid 14's while revving the engine, you more than likely have a bad R/R, or it's installed incorrectly.
