Default Better to Have Heavier Bar Ends?

When I first bought my F4, it was missing a bar end.. I replaced them with some delrin bar ends that were black.. well after 2 summers they are all faded.. so I was going to take them off and give them a quick spray of paint...
then started thinking... If I ride extended time on the parkway at around 60-70mph, my throttle hand will go numb... not terrible but its happens sometimes.. and this is with 3 diffreent pairs of gloves... stock grips.. so I thought maybe I should just pick up a new set of bar ends instead of repainting these...
now the heavy HVMP ones seem to be great, but personally I can't see spending $60+ on something that isnt black anyway.. who wants to spend money for powdercoating on top of that? not me...

now Hudson Valley Motorsports lists their short bar ends as weighing 11.8oz and the long at 13.5oz. I have no idea what the stockers were nor do I know what the delrin ones that I have are... but I found a set on the bay...

Weighted Honda Bar Ends CBR 600 F4i F4 F3 F2 Black - eBay (item 180663757308 end time Sep-03-11 11:44:05 PDT)

$27, they are black and advertised as 'weighted'. They look like stock and weigh 9oz each side. This sounds great, right... but since I don't even know what stock was I'm not sure if this is the way to go.

Any ideas? Anyone use these? I'm sure they must be just as good as the delrin ones that I have now, since I'm sure they are lighter..

just thinkin aloud.. its either get new ones or respray the old ones because the faded look is buggin me..

My opinion is yes (for general street riding). The inner bar weight + the bar end cut down on vibration. W/o the oem type bar end (such as the one you are looking at), you'll have a little more vibration.

Service Honda has the oem ones for $12.98 ea.

Edited for Clarification: From reading your post, I interpreted your question of is it "better to have heavier bar ends?" as asking if it were better than the delrin ones you are currently running. The answer is still - yes. The oem ones are sufficient. If you do buy aftermarket, an ounce difference isn't going to make a significant difference. This isn't weight & balance of a highly critical component, like launching a rocket. ;-)

The answer is NO, heavier bar ends don't mean they are better. The bar ends serve 2 purposes: 1) protect the handle bar 2)work as vibration absorbers
Any kind of vibration absorber has to be tuned to match the natural frequency of the object it absorbs the energy from, by adjusting both the distance its to the object and the weight of the absorber.
In your case, the distance is fixed so the best bar ends will have to weight the exact the same as the stock ones.

I bought those exact ones except the chrome ones and I have found they make for a more enjoyable ride.
My throttle hand would go numb as well but I seem to get more mileage before the numbness kicks in with these.
The are also longer then stock (maybe about 1.5" in length) and the do have some weight to them.

Being the psycho that I am.. I just took 15 seconds each to spray some semigloss black on the bar ends.. removal, repaint, and replace took all of about 6 minutes lol.. couldnt deal with the faded ends... I have a buddy that is worse than I am.. points out any imperfections.. that's what made me wash and wax it the other day...

I'll pick up another set soon.. either stock or the ones in that ebay link...

I found a difference in long drives between stock and the weighted ones, So there is a difference but unless you are commuting or go on long trips you probably wont notice.
