I just got in the habit of bump starting it... once I was in heavy traffic I'd kill it - waddle in parts and bump start when traffic really started moving.

That was when I had a D&D exhaust and idling at 5000 rpm to maintain charge wasn't feasible.

Apex - when you find that it wants to stall, hold the throttle open a bit and let it do a fast idle. At a faster idle it will produce more charge, and give the bike enough power to run.

yea that's wat i've been doing i usually just hold the rpm myself if i notice it starts to want to die... but i mean i'd like to fix the problem if i can and relatively cheaply...if not then i guess i'll just deal with it. i can always just try and avoid red lights haha kind of hard in NYC tho.

btw...any ideas on how i can get my seats prong to get into the retainer on the frame? (i mean the prong at the closest point to the tank, in the center width wise... for some reason the prong does not...cannot go under the retainer. i've tried pushing it down with my fingers as i'm putting the seat back on but it's not working...

I've ordered the cheapest thing first; a new regulator/rectifier. I'll then proceed in order of expense:
  • Battery
  • Stator
  • Carb
  • an F4i
I'll let you know how it goes.

Funny side note: one of the people selling Shindeng Regulators is actually the Indian Motor Company. I think they're still clearing out their parts bins.
