Default Almost done with 01- 03 tail swap on my 99 f4

So a few things. Subframe mounted up great. Undertray no probs. Lock mechanism and everything worked great even though I got nervous when it just didnt look like it would.

Had a few snags but woring through them. I have an aftermarket suspension adjuster. It was mounted on the old sub frame and the new one doesent have one. So amazingly it mounted to the passenger peg where it mounts to the exhaust clamp. And still no play in the exhaust. Funny thing was until we tightened the pegs to the subframe the exhaust was loose.

None of the electronics mounted to the undertray. So we cut my tool tray in the undertray and mounted the ecu there. Seat still fits perfect. All the other misc. electronics are along the one side of the undertray.

But all in all with a little modification so far so good. I am going to take some after pics for you guys to see and maybe help someone out doing the 99f4 to 01 -03 swap.

Bike looks like the **** so far though.

Even though its a 99 its very clean and has almost all new parts with a new drivertrain so it was worth it.

Im pretty sure the plastics are aftermarket cause it looks so different than other 99s. Now it looks sick aside from the gay triangle headlight.

Ill keep you gusy posted though

Once you get the bike together you have to get some pics of her up. I always think the F4 looks great with the split tail over the banana.

I did my tail swap a couple of winters ago and I have really been happy. The bike looks great, but I will admit the **** gets sore a lot quicker.

So here is a before pic. Dont mind the coloring I did to the tank in photo shop. It was black and was since painted yellow.

do you have an ohlins shock. that looks like a preload adjuster you got mounted there. i haven't studied the spilt tail in person but can you put it on the right side and make it match up with the expnsion chamber on the left of the bike. just got get a metal hose clamp or 2. but it probably would make it harder to turn the knobe then. and what rear sets are those the look like there are 2" back with no rise. might be an optical illusion

I cant remember the name of the rear sets off hand. I think begins with a k. I know they cost a good buck. Yeah the pre load adjuster is ohlins. Renthal sprockets 15/46. Theres a ton of stuff on the bike. It was a track bike. Converted to street bike. Having a problem with the plugs. The previous owner was running cam 2 in the bike so the carb needs to be adjusted. Didnt take long to foul the plugs. Been too ugly to get to the shop. Prolly this week.

I dont have it long and got it for a steal. 2200 from a friend. So I am still learning a lot about what all was done to it. I know full exhaust, k and n filter, and jet kit. Suspension is all new.
