Aftermarket screen - Touring or Double Bubble?
Hi,
I am a new member and proud owner of a 2000 Honda CBR 600 FY
and was liking everything until I took her out for a faster run.
I am finding the standard screen does not protect against wind blast as I thought it would.
Once you are on that 65 mph (or so)
mark I find you get buffeted around quite bad and I am hoping to improve
sustained highway speeds when needed.
Out of the research I have done so far my preference seemed to be pushed towards a :
Zero Gravity,
Puig
MRA
and possibly a Fabbri?
These screens have all come back as good to great quality and should not break as soon as i spend an hour putting them on unlike what i have heard about unbranded ebay stuff.
I would really want to be sitting upright and not tucking down if at all possible as have recently come from an upright 250cc bike so its enough getting use to the so called comfortable clip on's on the CBR
I see there is also a further choice now in "Corsa" double bubble screens
which are maybe between the touring and the standard double bubble and would ask if any one has one of these and can give a honest review on them
I am not tall at around 5ft 8 in my boots on the bike but am wide and my 100kg + weight sure helps keep the bike stable
Any Input would be appreciated

Tough one mate, think mine is a double bubble, not sure was in it when I bought it... still doesn't reallllyy protect me though... I still get buffetting unless I'm right down on the tank....
Update -
I had ordered a Zero Gravity Touring screen yesterday from online shop but not longer afterward had another message from them stating no screens in the country for 4- 6 weeks so i decided to cancel for now.
I don't mine waiting a week or so but that seemed to long for me so will check out other outlets and other screens to see what i can come up with.

There are so many screens out there and unless you brought yourself it may be hard to work out what it is,Sounds like you may have a standard screen if you are getting that much buffeting like I am!
My double bubble is spot on mate I ride 66 miles a day on mine and I don't get blown around too much at higher speeds. I can't comment on a touring screen as ie never had one but I'll definatly recommend a double bubble mate
Thanks for the feedback

I have bid on and one a cheap double bubble screen on ebay which states it's made out of high density acrylic and also states can withstand 200lb of impact pressure so sounded OK to give a try for £10 including post.
sounds strange the bolt kit for it only costs £1 less than the actual screen!

I think its waiting for me to pick up from the sorting office so will feed back on what its like.
I don't expect it can be much worse for protection against the original scratched up one I have as I think its designed to limit you to 70 mph.
I have received my cheapo screen today and it does look very good for the price I'd say!
I will have to take a picture of it and link to it here.
Hopefully it will be on by the weekend

Thanks, I hope so too
I will take a few pictures of it before fitting and on the bike hopefully tomorrow all being well with the weather as i have to fit outside with no cover.
Afterwards I hope to give it the dual carriageway test too
