So I went to investigate a leak on my recently aquired F4 and found that the rad hose on the left side of the bike going from the rad to the nipple just below the stator cover by the shifter was wrapped in some heat tape (think rubbery electrical tape) and leaking. My stator cover also seems to have an oil leak but Im thinking thats just a simple gasket swap away from being fixed.

Do I need to go to honda and get the factory rad hose or will a 16" length of 1" coolant hose be sufficient? It looks like its just a straight stretch of pipe, but I want to be sure. Im used to working on cars, not bikes.

Anything I should do while im in there with the rad hose off and the stator cover removed?
