Who's gauge-conversion tutorial did you use? I'm sure this thread will get some traffic.
I didn't use a guide, I saw where someone else used connectors. I got mine from Radio Shack. I used 2 12-pin connectors.

I just downloaded the schematic for the bike, and for the cluster, and went from there. I think all but one wire matched up with the cluster?

LCR, I will check it out.

Can anyone tell me if the two relays on the back of the headlight are what I need to make them work properly on the f4. Again, I will be matching up from schematics, but have seen where people have to add a relay?

Im doing the same conversion on my 2000 F4. I am a bit further along then you. But I mainly just have wiring left now. I did the f4i cluster swap on my old f3. I was wondering where did you get the wiring diagram for your f4 though?

Heres my current project. If you need any info, I am pleased to help.

Wow, yours looks great. I think I just googled them. I found the f4i diagram from http://www.tunedinnovations.com/f4ih...elaywiring.gif

and I believe I found the f4 version here. I was going to post them both up in my dropbox along with a "how-to" but didn't because the wiring was so straight forward. I can e-mail the f4 diagram to you if you need it.

I really like the split seat, I just don't have the money for the sub-frame and seats right now. Yours looks really sharp. What are you doing for the tank?

EDIT: I googled the f4 wiring diagram again and found where I got it, http://s3.amazonaws.com/img.perthstr...diagramfn5.jpg
Also, they are in the pdf versions of the service manual that can be found on here as well.

Nice thanks!

I am reusing the stock F4 tank, just repainting it first (orignally yellow). I picked up the split seat conversion for about $200. Most parts came off ebay and forums.

Did you remove the black off the subframe or do you have the banana seat subframe in there? $200 for everything is a steal...

It is the split seat sub frame. It was stripped of the paint and slightly polished.

Yes it is! These days, '01-03 subframes are going for $200 or more alone.

I picked mine up off eBay for $100 shipped. Seats I got on there as well. And bought all the fairings for $250.

That's what I'm holding out for. I think it'll take me awhile to find it for that.

Finally got the fairings in. They look really good. I thought the "decals" were painted on, turns out, they are decals that were cleared over. Which is fine with me, I know they won't peel this way. Anyway, I'm going to wire the headlight up tonight, and start putting the fairings on.

Here's what came though.

I got a little depressed when I got a look at the split seat fairings, but only because I know I can't put it on right now.

Money got really tight after my wife's car spun a rod bearing, and now the "play money" is "engine rebuild money." I now owe the machine shop another $600+ before I can put the engine back together, so I guess my carbon wrap will have to wait.

EDIT: You'll notice I had the tail stickers changed to just F4, instead of F4i. Even though it will look like an F4, I wanted to pay a little homage to it still being an F4.
