Is it normal that I only have a spacer thing on the left side?

I have some frame sliders that I was going to mount. They didn't come with instructions or anything. When i remove the bolt to install the slider, do i need something holding the engine...like a lift. I don't want to install these myself if I go to do it and i totally F!@k up my bike. i thought the opposite was supposed to happen when you install these =]

Do one side at a time. it will be fine. there are 4 mounting points (rear top, rear bottom, front left, front right)

Front left side has a spacer between frame and engine. Front right side doesn't. It appears to be normal, as it looks like its perfect for the length of the stock bolt, but I was just wondering...

It was really small, so I just guessed that it was like that. This diagram below calls number 39 a "washer".
Is it a washer or more of a spacer. If It's just a washer, I'll go get one from Menards tomorrow.
