Front: 120/60/17
Rear: 160/60/17

I've tried Dunlop 208's, Pirelli Diablos, and Power Pilots. For street riding I prefer the Diablos. I'm currently using a Pirelli Strada on the rear and Diablo street on the front. The old Diablo street lasted about 3K miles on the rear so hopefully the Strada (a touring tire) will last longer.

is there any thing wrong with running a 120/70/17 up front and a 160/60/17 in the rear?

if youre gonna be doing a trackday or really hard twisties go with the pilot powers or the dunlop qualifier. if youre just looking for everyday street riding look into the diablo or the continintal road attack ( my personal choice) i have road attacks on my 92 F2 and they are the best tires for the bike that ive found. they hold corners really well and are very easy on the wallet. if you want to spend another $10 you can pick up the continental sport attack that they just realeased and get the same performance as the pilot powers for half the price. i just put one of those on my GSXR 1000 today and after the test ride/break in run it holds pretty well. i have yet to get on it hard though due to it being so new.

the best combgo for your bike is a 120/65/17 on the front and a 160/60/17 on the rear.

heres a pic of the sport attack on my gixxer. not only is it a great tire ( highly underrated because of the big name brands) it looks awesome also. i just got this one mounted for $144 out the door. heres their website http://www.conti-tyres.co.uk/contibi...portattack.php make sure you check out the reviews on it.

It'll cause the bike to sit a little higher in the front and your speedo to read low. Here's the difference:

Dimension Tire A: 120/60 R 17 Tire B: 120/70 R 17 Difference
Width 4.72" (120.00mm) 4.72" (120.00mm) +0.00" (+0.00mm)
Sidewall height 2.83" (72.00mm) 3.31" (84.00mm) +0.47" (+12.00mm)
Overall height 22.67" (575.80mm) 23.61" (599.80mm) +0.94" (+24.00mm)
Circumference 71.22" (1808.93mm) 74.19" (1884.33mm) +2.97" (+75.40mm)

If your speedometer has been calibrated for 120/60 R 17 tires, replacing them with 120/70 R 17's would result in the speedometer reading low by 4.00%.
