I run Royal Purple 10w30 and a napa 1358 filter.
And Joel- thats only true if your bike (or more often car) has very high mileage. This is because sludge from conventional oil will act as somewhat of a crankcase sealant. When you put in synthetic oil, which serves to basically clean the sludge, you may be looking at leakage because of worn gaskets and the abscence of these sludge formed seals.

Oil - Shell Rotella 5w-40
Filter - Honda OEM always.OEMs use more paper than aftermarket.Only acceptable subsitute for OEM filter is EMGO,as they stand behind their product unlike the others. If your oil filter fails (and most aftermarket ones do somewhere along the way) Mr Gomez will cut the check to have your motor rebuilt,no questions asked.Saw him do it with my own eyes.

To me, the deciding factor on an oil filter is that size of particles is will catch and the effective filter area. Most "premium" filters beat the crap out of stock filters in both of those areas at a fraction of the cost. I just recently got the Fram TG on my bike for about 8 bucks at Wal Mart, though I would have preferred a PureOne if they had had it.
I just really don't know why you'd say that "most" aftermarket filters fail along the way... I have never heard of a single instance of that happening in any application, from semis to trucks to compact cars on down to ATVs and dirtbikes...

Why do you say that? While I'm sure is happens from time to time.. particularly when Fram still used cardboard to hold their filter element... I've personally never heard of an oil filter "failing" on any type of vehicle.
