when i turn the small *** it seems like a idle something or other and i dont know what the big one above it is help

the big on is your tank selector down is tank up is reserve and straight is off. the little **** is to the adjust the idle stop screw. one way will raise the idle and the other will lower it.

ORIGINAL: lldreams

the big on is your tank selector down is tank up is reserve and straight is off. the little **** is to the adjust the idle stop screw. one way will raise the idle and the other will lower it.

be careful when adjusting that idle screw cause it can unscrew pretty easily n will be a biotch to get back in

what do you mean ? how do you tell when your idle is set correctly ?

well the idle for my 96 should be 1200 +/- 100 rpms according to my honda service manual

That's exactly right, but it's also to be checked right after warm up. Start your bike with the choke, if it's the first time starting it that day, and let it get warmed up. Once it does, kill the choke and see where it idles - make small adjustments accordingly.

The only reason I say this is because after you've put a good 20 minute ride in, so long as it's around 70 degrees or above out, your bike will idle at around 1,500RPM's and that's normal - there is no need to reset the idle.
