Default want to lower my cbr 600f3

Hello I am new to the forums and I was going to lower my 97 cbr 600 with a new lowering link. and i noticed the one i was looking at said it is not dot certified and should only be used for showroom use. Is that just because it changes the suspension to much when you add a lowering link? or is this something I need to look around and find one that is dot certified.

also what else would I have to do after installing the link?
(assuming it is safe to use)

maybe they just put this on all of them so they can't get in trouble for people wiping out on sharp turns?? because the bike would bottom out...

well any help would be great and thank you guys.

well yea i've read the reviews on this and ppl say that the bike was made to be this height.. I know that and I know that the handling will be way different and all of that but i'm short and when I have my gf on the back I like a better footing.. and my main thing was the non dot certification.. I was just hoping that was just for liability reasons, since it alters the bike so much.

The CBR600F doesn't have the best ground clearance and turns like a barge, I wouldn't tamper with the rear ride height. Drop the front yokes a few mm, this will lower the bike a little and make it steer quicker. I'm only 5'6" but I usually end up raising the back end on my bikes to quicken the steering and improve ground clearance. My F2 track bike has a harris subframe conversion and race seat unit which makes it about the right height for me, I can only get one tip toe down at a time but that's enough. Rearsets also stop the pegs scraping.

My first big bike was an FZR600 which to be honest I dropped once at the lights when it stalled but after a while (a lot of near misses and a crash) I got used to it. The weight was a big step up from the GS500 and RG250 I had before that even though on paper it looks like just a few KG, but once I mastered the FZR I never had any problems with bigger, taller and heavier bikes. Thinking about it when I dropped the FZ I had a high profile tire fitted and a longer rear shock to improve the handling and stop me scraping the pegs (the handling was crap compared to my 250, my F2's is even worst).
