Valves?
So how often should I adjust my valves on my f3 and is it hard to get them right. I have owned the bike for 8 months now and it runs great but i think maybe it can run better. Does anyone do this on a regular basis like changing your oil but not so often?
any advice?

Valves should be checked every 16,000 miles or 2 years. "Checked" meaning if they're within tolerance, leave em alone.
Don't go diggin in your bike without a reason. It'll make you regret it

I don't plan on digging in to it i just wanted to see how often the pro's checked their's. I also wanted to see if it was a common problem that they have.. I own a quad and it is terrible about needing valves adjusted.. thanks for the help and info
i know alot of people never or hardly ever check valves...kinda along the " if it aint broke or making noise, dont touch it" im sure my bike has never had em checked and its got 20K. still runs good and i dont plan on checking them any time soon............but thats me
well, mine made no noise because they were too tight, I'm looking into getting it taken care of now, but mine was just at the 16k mark, and the intake valves basically weren't even closing, you can do what you want, but I advise against it if you don't feel like dropping a grand putting in a second engine.
Some guys recommend doing everything in the maintenance when they get a usedbike. That way they 1) know its been done and 2) have a start point for their own maintenance schedule.
Checking the valves 3k early won't hurt anything. It was just the impression you gave was that you'd be doing it every other oil change or something.
