The usual beginning of the season problem

well its getting to be that time of the year again, beginning of riding season. My motorcycle has this weird tendency where every year, right before i want to start taking it out on those decent spring days, something goes wrong. At the end of last season i was having some problems with my battery, so i got it through till the end of the year, figuring id just buy a new battery before the next season. One warm winter day i got the itch and thought id give it a try starting after sitting. I turned the key and the lights and everything worked, bet there wasnt enough power to turn the engine over, which is pretty much what i had expected. so i threw the battery on the trickle charger for a few hours and put it back on the bike. When i turned the key, nothing. No lights no turn signals no horn, no power.. i dont understand, the connections were all fine on the battery. i just dont see how it can go from lights working, to lights not working just from unhooking and rehooking the battery. I wanted to get on here and see if any of you have dealt with this problem before. I suspect its still the battery, but i dont want to go waste money on a battery if there could be a deeper, more expensive problem. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE.have a nice day and keep it on two wheels brothers
