Default Undertail frusteration

As you probably all know undertails are scarce for us f3 owners....espesially when you have a 95 or 96. I have found a couple of undertails for the 97-98's one from streetfighters usa and another from pimpbikes but nothing that i can use. I have a 95 and the guy from pimpbikes says the one he has for the F2 MIGHT fit. I know they both have the ugly rectangled brake light, and I think the same frame, but I have not studied an F2 to see for sure if it will fit or not. its a good price at $99 even with the $26 in shipping because it gets shipped from Canada. I would just find some rashed 97-98 plastics and re-do the whole back of my bike, just to give me something to do but i got the bike all custom painted w/ a color changing liquid-jade paint. I dont want to re-paint the whole tail section to do that. It will be easier to paint an undertail if i can find one. Has anybody else w/ a 95-96 F3 figured out this pesky problem, or does anyone knows if the tail from an F2 is the same or different. Any help or advise anybody could give me would help.

Thank you much,
-Loomis

I have a 95 also and I went to a local shop out here and i found a Universal fender eliminator, its basically a new mounting setup for the Lic plate and it has built in mounts for aftermarket tail lights. You dont lose any of your trunk storage or anything. If your interested in something like this its rather easy to set up, just need a cutting wheel(dremel or something similar) basic hand tools, and some free time. worked great for me and looks really clean once its all done. If you want to know who makes it message me and i will go out to the garage and find the box for it, and i can give you some tips to make it easier. Here is a pic of how it came out.

I already have the fender eliminator kit on my bike, but I am looking for a straight undertail so the rear looks more finished not just cleaner, thank you for the info though I was beginning to think no one wanted to respond to my post. The undertail I have found for the F2 i think will fit though. I tried to upload it but i dont know if it worked, I'll e-mail you a picture of it if you want to see it. Thanks for the info.

Looks like my upload did work, what do you think of that? do you think it will fit the F3 too? or better yet, is there anybody that does not think it will fit an F3?

i would think it would work for a pre-1997 f3, might need some minor modding but nothing to major.

So how did this ever turn out? A couple months back a bought my 95 F3 and want to get an undertail and some flush mount turn signals to make this thing look a lil more appealing. It will be going into paint in november after its been shut down til next season so it will look like a brand new bike again and i want an undertail to be painted with it. You ordered it from pimpbikes correct? let me know, thanks.

Well I just was on www.pimpbikes.com and did not see the F2 model listed for the undertail. [>:] Guess im going to have to do some more investigating on this.

Alright, got a reply from pimpbikes and they told me they do sell them still and its $126 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. I will more than likely be getting one of these closer to the end of the season, but for future reference for anyone looking. They do carry them even though they are not listed on their website, just send them an email.

The 95-96 F3 tail is identical to the F4 tail except for the passenger foot pegs and rear shock. The foot pegs were changed in '94 to allow for mounting of the shock res. The undertail should fit fine without modification. The post 94 foot pegs use the same brackets as the pre 94 pegs. The actual subframes of the F3 and F2 are the same for all years. Only the plastics, seat, and taillight changed in '97.
