Hi all!

Recently acquired my first bike - a 1995 Honda CBR 600f - yay!

Got my test in a couple of weeks so my bike has been sat still for a few days and in that time I have started her up once or twice just to hear the glorious sounds she makes!

Tried starting her up today and failed...

I'm pretty certain she has a flat battery - which brings us on to the noobish question.

To my understanding the battery on this bike is under the seat? If that is the case, how does one go about removing the seat? I've gone to the Honda website and downloaded their servicing guide for this bike, which says there should be a lock on the rear of the bike that the key unlocks in order to remove the seat yet I have been unable to locate such a lock!

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

take off the tail fairings, there are screw locks on the front bottom part near the gas tank, then just pull them off, then there are 2 bolts, one on each side of the seat that hold the seat on then wallah. The battery box has allenhead bolts that hold the top cover on

 

Remove your tail fairing, then on the side of your seat you will see some bolts that come out with an allen wrench.

 

get a volt meter and test it.
