Best and most advanced tire out right now is the all new Bridgestone BT-016 (in my opinion). A lot of guys swear by the Michelin Pilot Powers as well. Best price is at www.motorcycle-superstore.com. Free shipping too.

Yes, you need to keep stock tire sizes, unless you're just planning on posing at the local starbucks.

I would call up sprocketcenter.com and order one of their DID chain and sprocket kits. That's the way to go.
