The smart money is on stock sizes. I'm hoping you care about how the bike rides more than what it looks like.

If i can tell a huge difference on how it rides when i put around town i may try a 170 rear. I only cruise around town and an occasinal trip to work. I do not have this bike for hard cornering etc. I was planning on a review after i installed them and road it for a little bit.

Mine came stock with a 120/60-17 front. When i bought it, it came with a 120/70-17. It rides good right now with a 160/60-17 on the back. I plan on switching it to a 180/55-17 rear.

i haven't noticed any problems with a 180 in back... i can lean it over just fine and haven't noticed anything bad with weird flexing or anything like that.

what would go horrendously wrong by putting 10mm extra on over stock? paranoid much?

It's a well-understood phenomena that the F3 handles less well with a 170 or a 180 on the rear. Folks that race them stick with the 160.
