I used to have the stock Dunlop sportmax on my bike, but i got a new pirelli diablo mounted. It looks like a freakin donut, much narrower, much more round. They are the SAME SIZE tire though! Whats up here?

ill get a pic when i get home friday...has anyone else been through this? It doesnt look as cool, but it is easier to move the bike

 

its probably just the tire what size is it 160/60/17? If the old tire was worn flat in the middle you probably just got used to it looking that way...does it ride better?

 

yea, both 160 60 17...im tellin ya, the dunlop WAS wider

The pirelli has a steeper crown for increased lean angle. that, with the old tire being worn out, it will look narrower. You'll probably notice that it is harder to cover the entire tire with pirelli's or pilot powers than it is with dunlops. dont worry, you have just as much rubber there, its just configured in a different crown shape.

 

When I got my bike the tires where gone. When I put the same size tires on it to looked smaller. Well I you know what they say. Pics or it didnt happen.

Thas exactly how i was trying to describe it, steeper crown. It is the same amount of rubber, but its annoying to look at cause it looks so goofy being that narrow. The one good thing is the bike is much easier to flick from side to side now
