Default Tail problems

Hey guys, i have a 95 cbr f3, i'm switching over to the 97-98 f3 fairings. right now i have a fiberglass race tail on the bike, and if i take the tail off, there is nothing under it besides the frame.

I'm going to be buying a full set of fairings soon and I know i need the 97-98 seat and taillight but is there anything "underneath" the tail that i'm going to need? please if you don't understand ask questions cuz i need some answers lol

Yes, there is a plastic tray that goes under the seat and then there is a metal bracket that comes off that for the rear mid plastic to bolt to. If your creative, you could get away with making your own brackets and all, but otherwise just look for an F3 undertray/underseat plastic and the about 7" long z-shaped bracket to mount the center tail.

There is a difference in a 95-96 and 97-98 undertray also which is in the turn signal mounts. If you're buying it from eBay, make sure they say that it is from 97 or 98.

AND the tailight mounts on each tray are different. You'll need a 97-98 undertray, period.

That's just an underTAIL. You need the tray with the storage compartment and tailight mount.

It's going to be one of those things that you're just going to have to hunt for man. Search everywhere you can everyday. That's what I did and ended up finding a killer deal. Good luck and I'll keep my eyes out for you as I'm always looking for F3 stuff.

Hey 95Cbr6,

I havea fenderfor 97-98 some where. The problem is that some of my parts are here on the East Coast and the rest are on the West Coast. I've looked around out here and concluded that it must be out west. I'll be on the West Coast in a week and I can look for it then. If I do find it, you want it? I don't have the bracket for the tail light by the way.
