Default Stock Sprocket and Lowering

Hello everyone. I am going to by a 1998 Honda CBR F3 in about 2 weeks and I was wondering if you guys and gals can tell me how many teeth the stock sprockets have and what can i do or use to lower the back end of the bike! I know how to do the front cause all i am going to do is push the fork tube up and set it how i like it! Thanks for any info and love the forums!

Congrats on the new toy! Post up a photo gallery when ya get a chance. I'd recommend not lowering the bike unless you absolutely can't ride it at stock height. But you do have the right idea -- lower front and rear to keep the geometry similar. You'll just need to get some adjustable dog bones to lower the rear. I don't know the stock sprocket #'s -- I think I read somewhere 16/45 but I'm not positive.

Thanks for the reply. As far as lowering, I love the look and the feel when a bike is lowered. My dad use to have drag bikes so thats what I am used to! And I got a chance to look up the stock sprockets and they are 14/44! So one more question what are some good websites to find parts? Thanks again!

stock gearing on a 98 f3 is 15/43. but a 14/44 would be a good choice for performance.

This place is on e-bay but most of their stuff is buy-it-now so no hassle with bidding BS. ATV DIRECT I've bought from them twice and you get your tires fast and you get the correct tires. Last time I ordered from Chaparral they screwed everything up. I used to love Chaparral but the customer service has just gotten so bad I don't use them anymore.
