Default Stock carb position

Ok had my mechanic buddy come over and said whoever did my jet kit was a moron. My carb setup is below.

Left High, middle low, Middle High, Right Low

he said it should be low, high, high, low (think that is what he said)

Start in the middle. All needles in the middle,at first.

Pull plugs, and move the needle accordingly, only if it needs to be moved.

Not sure what you mean by high / low but the smaller jets are on 1 & 4. Larger jets are on 2 & 3

A mechanic friend said the ones on the left and right should be higher than the middle ones. that is how it has been on all the bikes he has worked on. this is my setup.

They effect air intake.
The shorter they are the more air will go in.
Because cylinders 2 and 3 are in the middle of the engine they run hotter, so need more air and they always have bigger jets in the carbs then the outside cylinders.

my f3 manual shows shorter ones on the outside... i dont think the shorter they are, the more air goes in. not trying to argue you wrong, because i really have no idea. but MY assumption would be that they are set up L:sm, lrg, lrg, sm:R to try regulating the flow of the air inside of the airbox, making kind of an aerodynamic to provide all cylinders with an even amount of air.....
