Default sprocket help

Im getting ready to change the sprockets and chain this week on my bike and was wondering everyones opnion. I have a 98 f3 and stock gearing and wondering if i should keep it stock or go -1,+2. I want it to come up easier but dont want it winding out on the highway doing 75 or 80. I can get it up now in first but not 2nd or 3rd. What would you do?? Thanks

I've heard a lot that have done up 3(Or 2) and down 2 up front. But those were often mountain riders.

Now if you are worried about wheelies in 2nd or 3rd then you need to learn clutch wheelies. I'm not great at them but I've seen another buddy of mine Tank wheelie my bike in 2nd.

im -1 +2 and i top out at 145ish and pulls up in 2-3 with clutch pop, but in first with power. make sure when you do you switch, when you put everything back on you have almost 1/4-1/2 inch play in the chain or you will get tight spots and ruin you sprockets. lerned lesson on that one wooooo that was fun. I tor every spike on both sprockets because i didnt have enough slack in the chain, but that was when i had no knolage. i was a first timer so just be sure to have the right slack or things will happen and it wont be good and it will cost ya. check around in this forum it will give y ou the righ spec on chain slack to be honest i might even be wrong so do a serch on chain slack.

Why dont you like your -1,+2. What are you looking for in stock sprockets?

Well I don't exactly need my bike to get from 0 to 100 miles an hour in the same amount of time it takes me to blink, and I want it to cruise at lower rpms... I didnt buy it to race it. Plus I live in the country, so 55 mph+ is most of my driving.
