Default spray painting the fairings...

so i decided that the matte black isnt the right color for me...after a couple of hours (5 hrs of sanding, washing, driving to the store to get more supplies, and spray painting)....here are the results...no clear coat yet...just primer and base...

by the way about 3 cans can do 2 layers of base for all fairings....

2 cans of primer will do 1 layer...

can anyone suggest a good clear coat? (spray can only pls)

more pictures tomorrow

total spent $40 and 5hrs of work

as far as a good clear coat in a paint can you cant loose with dupli-color clear been using that clear coat for the last six years and has never failed me.I just finished painting my swingarm for my f3, and it came out like a professional finish.I still have to wet sand it.I'll put up some picks when i'm done. The fairings look good!!!

i have use this brand for the first time.a lowes or home depot brand. The stuff is hard to spray, smells good, goes on thick, does the job,but after i finished it felt like i punched the wall.(the ez spray tips make all the difference in the world).i stand by dupli-color as far as spray paint.

looks good, im in the same process but I sprayed my primer with my gun. Will use cans to lay the base though and the clear since I didn't like the way the gun was shooting. I usually use duplicolor clear and it works great. BTW if ur spraying with cans u should look into getting one of those handle tops were u place it onto of the can it turns it into a spray gun handle.

When mine was spray painted I just used Krylon fusion gloss enamel to negate having to use clear. I find the acrylic and laquer just arent very strong and are more
succeptible to rock chips.
