Default Speedo removal project HELP!!!

Turning my 95 f3 into a street fighter and removing the speedo cluster. I know from past experience that if you unplug the speedo cluster the bike will not run correctly, usually falling flat on its face around 35mph. There is some sort of air intake regulator connected with the speedo I believe. The remmedy for this problem is to splice some of the speedo wires together, BUT WHICH ONES???

Anyone who has done this I would appreciate any and all help and feed back!!

eudabusa I'm wanting to do the same to my F2, I know the F2's and F3's are very similar, if you remember could you post up which wires you connected to make it run correctly? Thanks

I just bypassed the air solenoid after finding this and have been riding without a speedo with no problems. Im sure grounding the wire to open and close it will work fine too but I had removed the maze of small intake hoses to ride the bike without the fairing. http://cbrjunkie.com/600f-(hurricane...ging-randomly/

cr250r67: are you referring to the diagram in the third post on that site?

and also is the diagram related to some sort of control that you lose by removing the cluster? like the cluster controls a valve of sorts and when you remove the cluster it stops operating it?

Yes I was referring to the third post. The speedometer controls the air solenoid. the carbs pull air from the small hoses under the headlight until the speedo hits 12mph then allows it to pull air from just the ram air intake (im thinking the f2 doesn't have a ram air intake) And yes when the speedo is removed the solenoid does not operate therefor causing bogging issues. I just looked at the diagrams for the f2 and there is no ram air and no air solenoid. I would just remove the gauges or unplug them and see if you notice any sort of issues.

Ok, so on F2's like some have said you don't have to do anything, I pulled my cluster last night and ziptied my headlight to the forks, and everything works perfectly.
