Shredded my rear sprocket today!
Went for a 350 mile ride today with a couple buddies. Amazing ride, crazy twisties!!! I was pushing pretty hard all day (buddies both had R1's). I get home and clean my chain and notice that half of the teeth on my ****ty Vortex sprocket are gone!!![sm=jawdrop.gif]I didn't notice it while riding. Is this dangerous at all? Could the chain come off?!?! I don't have a chain guard so that's pretty scary. Here's a quick pic.

RE: Shredded my rear sprocket today!
I'm extremely surprised that the bike still moves forward under its own power. That is very dangerous and yes, the chain can easily slip off. My suggestion is to obviously replace the chain/sprocket set and to stay as far away from Vortex rear aluminum sprockets as you can.

RE: Shredded my rear sprocket today!
I am using the Vortex 520 conversion set.
I ended up going with the optimized kit reccomended by Vortex and so far so good!
I am pretty sure I used one of the stores here to buy the set.
$140 shipped.
The Vortex people must have emailed me at least 3 times to make sure I got exactly what I wanted before shipping!
Good people to buy from IMHO!

ORIGINAL: VALKYIE
I have a vortex rear and front sprocket on my bike that is almost a year old. Should I be concerned?

The sprocket pictured looks OEM it's not a Vortex.
Just keep it adjusted and lubed and it should last years...
