Default Shift linkage bolt?!?!

Wouldn't you know it....took vacation this coming week, planned on doing some riding and enjoying this great weather and.....

The bolt that holds my shift linkage in place fell out today while I was riding. Luckily I was only 1 mile away from home when it hapened. Riding home in 2nd gear is not much fun.

I already ordered the oem parts, but, just to get me through a couple days, is it possible to find a bolt at home depot or something that will get me by? Does anyone know the thread pattern of this bolt?

The bolt is a metric one. Unfortunately, Home Depot doesn't carry much metric stuff (if at all). Try a different store like OSH (if those are near you).

Maybe I was a little vague... it is part #13 in this diagram. I went to a couple hardware stores, found some metric stuff, but nothing that would be as thick as this bolt and still have the small thread pattern. I'm pretty sure i'm screwed. Maybe I will get the parts before next weekend.....

Man that really sucks.

You're gonna have to get that bolt from the dealer. It's not just a regular bolt.

Try www.ronayers.com

Yeah, it sucks pretty bad, haha. I already ordered the parts, but I may head over to a motorcycle salvage yard today to see if I come across the bolt for a couple bucks. I will most likely be using loctite on everything now. Lesson learned I guess.[:@]

get it at honda direct i paid like 25 bucks shipped for all the parts . same thing happened to me i had to ride home in 3rd the bike was screaming at take offs, took all the back roads to thank god it was at like 1am . also they have this thing called thread seal or something like that its a grease u put on bolts like that so the vibration of the bike does not make em come loose.

thats the only thing about owning a older bike you have to always remember to do the little things , after that i always do a little tightenin on bolts n check for loose parts before every ride never know .
