SERVICE TIPS
Remove the rear and bottom fairings, drain the oil and while it's draining change the plugs.
3 hours later put some rags on the exhaust so when you remove the filter it doesn't get on it. Replace the filter, run about a half a quart through the engine and let it drain out if it hasn't been changed in a while. Fill with oil, replace plastics and enjoy.
I hate the plugs. I had to get down on that bastard to change mine.

I agree with KidCr3nshaw with one exception. With you've drained the motor, dump 1 qt of automatic transmission fluid from a car in it (with the plug in ) and start the bike, but do not run the motor for more than 15-20 secs. Dont worry, it wont hurt your engine. Then dump and let the stuff drain. ATF is vastly more detergent than regular oil, so it will get more of the burned on crude out of the engine. I do this like every third time I change the oil.
hey thanks for the tips, i'm taking from what you've said plugs are a bit of a pain. any further advice as i'm going to do it tomorrow - hopefully- you'll so know if i've got problems lol
thanks again
thanks again
how much miles on your bike ? i was goin to do my air filter change myself but i needed to get my carbs cleaned n tuned so the guy at the shop put in the filter for me free of charge. if u need to have that done to they might hook u up
but the air filter is easy ,turn off the fuel ,undo the two bolts holding the tank one by the seat other by the triple area ,unhook the clip holding the the fuel hose remove the hose then lift off the tank, undo the screws around the air filter assy make sure u remove them all ,so it lifts right off n then then the filter will lift right out
