Rear shock swap

Rear shock swap
I've been doing some reading on all the threads about rear shocks and I'm still a little confused this is what i got, please correct me if I'm wrong.
Swapping to an f4I shock is easy to do but it will raise the back of the bike around 2 inches. and you would need to switchthe kickstand Oswell. You could use dog bones to bring the bike back down. By doing this ... does it change the geometry of the bike dramatically?
Somewhere i read that the 03-06 RR shock might fit.. is this accurate?
I do know that The Ohlins, fox and other shocks for the specific bike are the the way to go but, having 3 kids and a new house, i cant com up with the extra $400 to buy one of those and I'm pretty sure the wife will not let me spend it either.
What I'm trying to accomplish: Well i take the bike to the track around 4-5 times a year. Sometimes it feels like the rear is going to slide form under. I'm not a supper aggressive rider by any means. but i just want to feel comfortable on the street and in the track and i want to make it home in one piece at the end of the day.
The forks need to be done too , but I'm gonna tackle one thing at the time.
Thanks for your help guys.

thanks for the input guys. I weight 175lbs.
I'm going to have the forks revalved this winter. i'm saving up for that. i think the whole tree needs to be adjusted. sometimes when i brake with the fronts it feels like the triple trees are loose.

RE: Rear shock swap
im tryin to find a better rear shock as well. went a head and re did the front forks and the rear really feels out of place now. thats a nice fox shock im gonna have to wait till income tax to get something like that. i looked at a 600rr schock and i dont think that will bolt onto a f3 because of the lower mount
