^ I was thinking the exact same thing. Why did you split the cases if you're having compression issues? Where you having tranny issues too?

thats whats getting me, i have brand new rings, brand new head gasket, and i lapped my valves. i checked the shims after i lapped them as well. thats why i think it is something internal, something mechanical with the engine. thats why im stumped.

Why did you lap the shims I know you checked them but they should not need lapping and would throw your measurements off.

x3 for a leak down test

if changing timing had no effect on compression and it is low on all cylinders i am betting you have leakage past the rings

you can get a used motor on ebay for $500..... how much $$$ is your labor worth to you?
