Cool Radar Detector

Out of curiosity, who would like to see instructions (with pictures) on how to do a custom radar detector installation into the nose of an F3?

It's just a typical car radar/laser detector but I modified it to run off of the bikes electrical system and turn off when you shut the bike off. The detector itself is completely hidden behind the nose of the bike and still detects radar signals perfectly (radar penetrates plastic easily.)

The display is mounted separately from the rest of the detector on my instrument panel above my speedo.

. . . .I seriously hate these threads. Why don't you just post it? It doesn't matter if it's "Who wants to see how to turn their bike into a garden ornament," if one person benefits from it, then you helped, and it was worth it. Hell, I posted a how-to on adding a USB port to your bike thinking "man, everyone's going to think this si stupid," but I just went ahead and did it.

The worst part about these BS teaser how-to's, is NOBODY ACTUALLY EVER POSTS IT!!

I swear, if you end up not posting this, then I called your bluff, and you owe me ice cream.

Lolcats, I'll post it... Don't you worry. I'm just not sure whether I should post it here or in 600 modifications.

See, I don't know if it's a good, easy to do DIY project. It took me 10 hours to install, very steady hands, and a lot of patience. I also don't know how well a brand new radar detector would fare since their screens might have hundreds of points that would need to be rewired.

why hide it? Of course you could still wire it into the electrical system...

10 hours? cut the end off the cigarette lighter plug, and solder onto a switched 12v power wire... then zip tie the actual radar detector under the instrument cluster. 30 min tops!

What did you do for 10 hrs? Go to old country buffet and stay there for 4 hours than a movie and then came back home and finished the project?
