I've heard about the gsxr1k regulator/rectifiyer conversion but has anyone ever done or heard of swapping with either a kawi or a yamaha? i have a friend that works at a kawi/yamaha dealer and can get a discount...curiosity strikes otherwize i'm going to look for the gsxr r/r somewhere else

A used GSXR R/R is still gonna be way cheaper than a new Kawasaki or Yamaha R/R even with a discount.

Ture that. Is the upgrade that much better?

It's literally 2-3 times bigger than the stock F2 R/R....so yeah.

The Honda R/Rs are crap.

I've read on here where guys have used the GSXR with very positive results. It's not a plug and ride, will require modifications to make it work. There was a write on it in the how to section.

after I did the GSXR r/r mod, my bike is happier. I would have to jump start if I didnt ride for a week. The other day, I came home from out of town to take the bike back up to Boston, it had been sitting for 4 weeks, started right up. The bike will charge around 2000 RPM now as well, instead of all the way up at 5000. Well worth the time, since the r/r was free from my GSXR happy roomy who had an extra.

03 gsxr conversion successful. 150 miles down doing good. How did you mount it? I swapped places with cpu. and lots of zip ties

I did my gsxr r/r conversion about 2 weeks ago and no issues since. it does get a little warm but as long as it stays working I am happy. I took the plate off and drilled a new hole to mount it.
