Default Question on helmet lock.

I replaced my whole peg assembly with chrome. Mine was polished andit didnt look good with the rest of the chrome.Looks real nice but my helmet lock is still on my old one. I look at the new one and it looks like screw holes where it mounts up. Look at the old one and it looks like it is held on there withtwo rivets.Right nowI have all three locks on the bike keyed the same, soI would love to get the helmet lock on my new peg. How canI get it offthe old one. I guessonceit is offI justbolt it on the new one.

I replaced an entire lock set on a 97 F3 that I had. If I recall correctly, those rivits are really screws with no slots. If you use a pair of vise grips carefully, you can get a grip on the edge of the heads and unscrew them. Use the same method to put them back on.

Good luck...

Or you could CAREFULLY use a dremel and turn them into flathead screws

I was havin the same issue with a chrome one on my bike. Found a used one with lock & key on ebay for $26. I soaked it with wd40 & used needle nose vice grips & the screws came off with minimal effort.

Well due to 4th of July the helmet lock was not high on my list. I will try that this week. Sounds like it shouldnt be too bad.
