Problem with Top Plate on Triple Tree
I went to grease my head stock/steering bearings on the triple tree. I took off the nut and there was rust on the triple tree thread. I tried to take off the top plate / bridge and it seems to be stuck - do you need a puller to take it off?
Or how do you take it off?
Thanks

Did you loosen the 2 bolts at the corners that hold the top of the tubes?
If you removed those bolts as well, that should let it free.
However! Be sure and support the bikes front-end when you do remove the top tree,
the tops of the tubes aren't supported, stress the tubes and sagging the bike.
This is known as a BAD thing. So be cool, and secure the bike first.
