Polishing the rim was easy, picture attached
It wasn't as bad a people say, the paint remover did most of the work. The hardest part was inside the spoaks. Since the inner part of the rim is not smooth alumium I am going to repaint them gray instead of black to match the new fairing (WHEN EVER THEY GET IN, DANG!!).
Used the Air Plane paint remover, used a entire can on one rim. Then used 3 grades of steel wool, Course, Medium and Fine. Didn't come out as bright as I want it, but it looks good.
Took about 2 hours to do the job, if I would have put in another hour into I could have gotten it shinnier. But it would to nice of a day not to ride in PA.
Now for the front rim, this weekend when I put on the new tire.

Being in the Air Force, I thought about buying a can and seeing if it works... lilterally likethe namesays.Haha...
And YES - we need pictures of those wheels!
Well after posting, I re-did the rims, I actually got down to the nitty griddy. It came out really good.
As for the center part of the rim, I got some chrome spray paint and it match the polish part perfect.
The front rim;paint removal, taping, priming, printing, and clear coating4 hours, to redo the rear rim 2 hours.
Yeah Aircraft Remover, don't let it get on your skin, burns like hell.

So you taped off the inside of the rim and painted the center part with chrome paint.Where did you get that? IT looks good in the pic, iwas planning to do mine, but does your rim still show the scratches and signs that its been polished or is it clean smooth?
Where did you get the 3 diff kinds of wool? i was going to buy a polishing kit, wool sounds cheaper though?

What I did was paint removed the entire rim, after set for a couple of minutes, use a plastic spreader that just scrap the paint off. WEAR GLOVES and GOGGLES, the paint remover burns like hell.
I got everything from AutoZone parts store; paint remover, 3 grades of steel wood, primer, and chrome paint $40.00
Use the harsher wool to get the little spots of paint left over from the remover and on the inner part of the rim. The inner part of the rim need the most work, because of it harsh finish and need more muscle to get off.
When I was ok with the out come, washed off the remaining paint remover and let dry. Then for the lip only, used the second grade of wool to smooth out the scratches the harsh wool left and the fine wool to buff it out shinny.
Once done, tape the lip and grease seal/axle hole, leave just the inner part of the rim open. Primed and spray paint the chrome, even though the paint don't turn out chrome, it matches the polish lip perfect.
If you got in deep knotches on the rims it won't hide that, but make it less noticeable.
If I would have put more time and detail into it, it would have came out perfect. Right now it is great.
I did try to clear coat the entire rim, but it turned the chrome paint to gray. I re-did it and only clear coat the polish lip.
Only 4 hours for both rims, not bad at all.
The pictures don't do it justice.

Yeah man that helps a lot i going to try this weekend now, everything was clear only thing ? for was what name/type of clearcoat you bought. I am lucky cuz my rims were already polished but they look like **** compared to what yours look like so i just have to get to buffen it with fine wool and clear coat. Thanks for the info!
