Default On Pins and Needles, wondering what will happen next

Monday was a freakin windy *** day but I road my bike to work anyway. Long story short is I should have parked my bike in the garage. The wind blew it over as I was getting dropped off by my wife from a doc appt. I didn't see it happen but kinda caught it on video. Not a very good video but you can barely see the top of the bike at the bottom of the screen. Note the black car at the top and then me getting out of the car just a minute after it happend. Bike tip 17s me getting out 1:18

Anyway the insurance adjuster was here yesterday but since they were getting computer upgrades, he couldn't tell me how much I would be getting. The fall left rash on the right side mirror, both brake levers, bar end, upper and lower fairing, tail fairing, foot peg, foot peg bracket, muffler and clamp.

So now I'm left wondering are they going to pay to replace all this stuff or are they going to total out my bike? More importantly will I be doing an F4i front fairing conversion or getting a real F4?

Before

After

More importantly, will you invest in frame sliders for what ever bike you plan to keep/buy?

You can probably bet on that

LOL, good to hear. Let us know what your insurance will kick back and hopefully not total out the bike. That way you could sell it as is $2000 or so and take the ins cash and get a nice '01-'03 F4i. I have both bikes and they each have their perks, F3 is comfy, but that F4i fuel injection is awesome!

Well just got off the phone with insurance lady. The bike is considered totaled. So NADA value + aftermarket add-ons is getting me a check for $3000. I had the option to keep it but I didn't want to mess with possible damage disclosures or salvaged titles.

Damn, how much to buy it back from them? Could make some easy money on CL or maybe just sell me the fairing stay and windscreen? hehe

They would have given me $1900 for buy back. If I were to do that and then sold it I would have only asked $1500 for it. It was laid down before I bought it and the fairing stay was still bent. It also has F2 forks and wheels from a track bike.

Sux cause I just ordered a carbon fiber front fender for an F2 off eBay Sat. It was painted but I was going to try to sand the paint off and then clear it. Anybody interested?

Doh! Well it sounds like you commin out of the situation way ahead then. No headache of piecing a bike together and one hell of a lump sum to so shopping for a replacement with. Just make sure to take your time, don't run with the first deal you find. Get your post count up and you could list that fender right here on the site in the classifieds. Best of luck!

Thanks Northern. Coming out ahead is the under statement of the year. I was given my first two bikes for free since they didn't run. I got them both running with simple tune-ups (clean carbs, new plugs). Sold those two to pay for my F3. Spent about $100 for a new r/r and other odd and ends plus the $120 for a years worth of collision insurance.

Yeah keeping me from buying the first thing I find is hard. Already found an 01 F4i I want to look at. I think I might have to drag my old man along this time to keep me calm. I just get too damn excited when I get new toys.
