Default Petcock

Ok, I am new to bikes with petcocks. When i am not riding the bike, can I leave it in the on position or is it best to shut it off?

You can leave it on. I usually turn mine off just for the simple fact that I park the bike in the living room.

Bah but how are you two supposed to do a burnout in the living room with the petcock off???

To the OP the only time I've ever heard it mentioned was to turn it off over long storage periods. Beyond that, just don't it in Reserve unless you like pushing your bike
