Is there an aftermarket helmet lock that can be used as "permanent" storage for a spare helmet? I see plenty of squids with helmets strapped to their bikes, but if I use the F3 lock, the helmet will bounce off the bike. Is there some sort of aftermarket accessory that will let me strap a second helmet to the bike without having it flop around?

 

Sure there is, look under F3 squid accessories on ebay...

 

just put the chin strap through the strap on your seat and tighten the helmet, it wont move. The only problem is of course its not locked

 

Yeah, that sucks. I wouldn't be able to lock it while I was off the bike as I'd be using the existing lock for MY helmet. Don't wanna get it stolen. . .

 

Just get like a Brinks lock and lock it to the frame under the seat. Run it through the D loop. And if it won't fit around the frame, just get a small bicycle wire lock and wrap it around the frame a few times under the seat. Just my may be a pain cuz you'd prob have to take off the side fairing to lock/unlock it

 

I just bought this left side peg off a member on the board.... installed it .... I work for honda I am a tech there.......... I was wondering if anyone has taken this thing apart before .... are the tumblers the same as the cars ? size and shape wise ? I want to re key the lock to my key .. just need to find the tumblers.... I can get the break away bolts to reinstall this lock after too ...

Take it to a locksmith, they can rekey it pretty quick.
