Sorry for bumping, I just need answers if they are available.

how do i check to be sure my ignition is working properly? it will rev up fine, it only acts up when in gear/under a load. If i accelerate vigorously, it seems to go away, sometimes it doesn't though and the bike is very jerky. it never blows smoke and the oil level hasn't gone down at all, so i'm not burning much if any. the bike has been running very very rich and i've, obviously, been getting pretty low mpg's. if i am just cruising, it's normally running good. only when i lightly accelerate or cruise below 5k rpm is it really acting up.

 

What's the history on the bike ? Mileage, modifications and things such as that. Did the problem happen suddenly or slowly over time ?

 

i've had the bike since march this year. the only mods i've seen are a slip-on and a k/n. everything else seems pretty stock. mileage is around 18k. i bought it with 13k, dropped. the problem has slowly become worse. it always ran perfect, then one day it started to sputter only under light acceleration, so i changed my plugs with NGK iridiums. it seemed to be an inconsistent issue. one ride it would be there, the next it'd run great again. now it is almost always an issue.
