Not recharging
My bike died completely today and I was wondering if there was a component on the charging system that was notorious for going bad, or will I just have to replace the entire alternator system? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
HAVE YOU TRIED SEARCHING!!!![:@]
It's nothing personnal, this is just a REALLY REALLY common problem and the discussion is a popular topic.
Here'swhat your problem could be. a bad regulator/rectifier.Hondadid apoor job if the set-up of their charging system.F2, F3, and the VFR of the same years have a problem with them burning out. the causes runn from the wires beeing too small to handle the current, bad connectors that fry, andhaving too small of colling fins on the R/R. Plus location is the worst place possible.
Try this link, It will help you figure out if it really is your R/R.

If it is your R/R that is having the problem, then this link will help you figure out a "better" replacement for your R/R. Honda did fix the problem, but they still burn out.

I personally have switched to a GSXR R/R and havn't had a problem since.
But seriously, use the search feature next time.
ADMIN: Can we put up a sticky or something on this subject? Thanks
