Default New tires, new discovery

Went to get on my bike early last week to go to work and noticed the front was flat. Dunno why or how cause it was fine the day before. So I went tire shopping while waiting for this paycheck, intending to replace both. I'm going with Shinko 005 Advance Radials or Shinko 009 Raven Radials. I don't race, track or ride aggressively. So I figure these will be fine for commuting / riding the city.

But the discovery was the PO had a 170 on the rear. Have yet to figure out the previous owner. She defies understanding. A 5' 3" stripper with a sports bike and 0 knowledge about her bike

Geez, I could make all sorts of innuendos about your bike once belonging to a stripper & a tyre that went down on you for no reason, but I won't.
I've seen to much weird stuff done to bikes over the year's not to be surprised anymore.
Let us know how the new tyres work out for grip & wear.

ive got the 009's. rear is a 170 also. i like the tires alot. alot of guys curse their name because they dont like them others just beacuse they are so cheap and figure that they suck. ive got well over 3000 miles on mine, havent had a tire blow out, loose traction in a corner, get flat spots or anything weird. they might not be a race tire but work great for what do as they ride great and still have lots of tread left

ive commented about the Shinko Raven tires before. I have them front and rear and I think they are awesome especially for the price (159$ for both from local parts store) And its true the tread life last a really long time...

Got front and rear 005 Advanced today from a local shop for $201.80. I'll see how they ride as soon as I get them on the bike

Geez... I never realized how painful it is to find someone to put tires on a motorcycle

Was hoping for someone nearby, maybe within walking distance, to mount these but no joy. Well there are a couple guys I wouldn't trust to change the tire on a Big Wheel.

Got these from Revzilla, an internet outlet that has a surprisingly nice real store here in Philly. The guys at the store are pretty interested in the tires as well. The irregular tread pattern has us all wondering whether they'll be trash or superior in wet conditions dissipating water.
