Hi guys, I'm excited to say that I installed a new set of Dunlop Q2 tires on my F3. I think there was some life in the old tires; but I'm going to be doing two days of track riding next week so I wanted new tires. I've read alot about different tires and the Dunlops always seem to get great reviews. Of course tire selection is very subjective. I might mention that I posted a write up of how to change your own tires in the "How To" section. If you feel like taking a look, I would be interested in your opinions and comments. It might take a while to be posted since it needs to be approved by a moderator. Hope you like it.

I bought them from a local shop. With tax I paid $290. I bought a 129/60 front and a 170/60 rear. I know that is a bit wider than stock; but it had those sizes on it when I bought it and I figured it would be fine. Stopped raining for a bit today and had a chance to try them out. Seems to be fine.
The fellow at the shop claims that the online tires are sometimes old? Idk, I figure he is just trying to sell tires. I don't mind helping out a local guy, though, because he stocks lots of things that others don't (like fasteners) so I want him to be around for a good long while. If I pay twenty bucks more, that is ok by me.

I think it's unfortunate that you purchased the 170's instead of the 160's the bike was designed for. During the mid 1990's the F3's were tearing up the tracks. As you're learning to ride on the track, you're going to want the bike to handle at its best. I'm sure you'll be fine on the 170's. It's possible that you'll wear through them in the 2 days of track riding depending on how much track time you get and how aggressive you're able to get. Just for grins, consider getting some 160's next time you're headed for the track and see if you don't notice a difference.
Anyway, have a great time and remember to keep the shiny side up.
