Default New indicators

Just fitted my new slimline front indicators. I think they really change the appearance of the front end for the better and they don't seem to be any less visible on the road. Anyone agree/disagree/hate them?

How bright are they when they're on ? Does it use a dual filiment bulb, one for a running light and one for the signal ? How are they mounted to the fairing ?

Single filament because we don't haverunning lights as standardin the UK.They use the same bulb as standard sothey're plentybright enough inuse, the whole of the lens lights up not just the area where the bulb is. The unit is like a big oval mushroom, the head has a rubber seal which moulds to the outside of the fairing and seals off the two holes from the original, the stem pokes through to the inside and has a large threaded collar which screws over it to hold it in place. The wires go inside the fairing instead of through the inner and up so I've bolted the original plate back into the inner fairing to blank off the holes from the wires and the mounting nut.

I think they look good, they clean up the front end. I'm not much on bobbing the tail as most do on the F3's. I wonder if it would be possible to convert it to like it is here in the US with running lights, unless that would be illegal there in the UK ? Running lights (or parking lights) add to the visibility of the bike and help prevent being hit.

It's not illegal and you do see some bikes converted to use running lights but the Euro thing is headlights permanently on, mostnewer models have the headlight wired in tothe ignition and no option of turning it off, sort of defeats the object of running lights. I think that's because it's already compulsory in some countries in Europe and it saves the manufacturers effort if they produce a single Euro version with headlamps always on. The huge majority of bikers over here run like that all the time anyway.
