hahaha i like your attitide pointman... where in jersey are you from? I probably will be taking it out in the a$$ cold weather it is just to hard too be away from the bike for that long haha, but I think its a good idea to prepare my bike for a long sit after everytime i ride it from now until the spring as i dont know how long it may be before i get to ride it again

Another thing, that should be obvious, but if you're like me, the obvious things are the ones you mess up. If you're keeping your bike in an unheated garage, make sure the antifreeze is up to snuff. Especially if you did any track days and had to use straight water or water-wetter.

Bergs, I really like your suggestion about mouse control. That would have never crossed my mind to prevent mice from nesting in the exhaust. Excellent suggestion!!

I've never had an issue but I know that refineries are starting to mix small amounts of ethonal into gasoline. To my knowledge, this is mainly done in the summer months for reduction in smog. I just don't know what the issue is because I haven't read the article yet.
I have a hard copy right here. It came from RoadBikeMag.com in October 2006. It's titled "Let the Biker Beware" written by Steve Lita.
The article in question promotes the use of fuel stabilizers but I was talking to a tech-friendof mine who laid some info on me about older carb systems, fuel stabilizers and current fuels...none of ittoo pretty if the rider is not aware of what to keep an eye on.
The article plugs Maxima's fuel stabilizer a few times so one could deduce it's a somewhat-sponsored article but the point is there.
