I bought a f3 from a friend that had the bike sitting for about 8 years because it never ran. Took it home and put new jets in; started right up. All was good, took it for a test ride and about 4 miles in the bike would just stall out after it warms up. Rode it the next day and the same thing. Did test the ipg and resistance is like 532 but I ordered another. Didnt get the part yet though. Now when I start the bike it backfires, sometimes it will run but die out. I did tighten up the cam tensioner because it made the chain noise when cold. So at this point I don't know what to do. Its got new spark plugs, wires, and battery. it is getting spark BTW. Could it be the ICM?

 

Update! Went home from work early for an appointment... before I left it tinkered with the bike and noticed the plug wires were not in the correct order to the coils. Should have went over everything when I bought it. Sounds like the valves need adjustment or the tensioner. Gotta ride it later to see if it still stalls when hot.
